Studio 1 SDR was originally an extension to the original open source application called Studio1Radio. The primary difference between the two programs is that Studio 1 SDR has been modified significantly. The primary goal of this modification was to simplify the user interface. By simplifying the user interface, it would be easier for users to learn how to use Studio 1 SDR. Also, making it simpler made downloading and installing the program faster and easier, as opposed to having multiple files for each program due to different programming languages being used in each instance of Studio 1 SDR. The user interface is the same as the original Studio 1 Radio program. Only changes were made to make it easier and simpler to learn and use. Studio 1 SDR is written in C++ programming language. A large percentage of all software is written in this language, most notably Microsoft Windows operating systems, such as Windows XP and Windows Vista. This means that programming knowledge is not required to download and install Studio 1 SDR, as opposed to other applications with less mainstream programming languages such as Java or C#. Studio 1 SDR is an application that uses the same spectrum analyzer that is used in the original Studio 1 SDR, which was created by Piotr Szturc.
